By Air

  • Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun): Flights from Delhi (1 hr), Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata
  • Pantnagar Airport (Udham Singh Nagar): Flights from Delhi — for Kumaon destinations
  • Naini Saini Airport (Pithoragarh): Limited flights from Delhi

By Train

  • Haridwar Junction: Best connected railway — trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata
  • Dehradun: Shatabdi and other trains from Delhi (5 hours)
  • Kathgodam: Gateway for Kumaon — Ranikhet Express from Delhi
  • Rishikesh: Limited trains — better to come via Haridwar (25 km)

By Road

  • Delhi to Haridwar: 250 km (5 hours) — NH-58
  • Delhi to Dehradun: 280 km (6 hours) — NH-58/NH-7
  • Delhi to Nainital: 310 km (6–7 hours) — via Moradabad
