Travel Tips for the Delhi–Rishikesh Weekend
Book rafting the evening before: On Saturday morning, the Shivpuri launch point fills fast. Either book on Friday evening when you arrive at Shivpuri (stop briefly en route to Rishikesh from the highway), or walk to the operators the Thursday/Friday evening before. Weekend walk-ins in peak season may face a 1–2 hour wait or sell-out.
Friday night driving: The Delhi–Haridwar stretch on Friday evening after 7 PM is smooth. The Haridwar–Rishikesh 24-km stretch on Saturday morning can be congested — drive through early or take a shared tempo.
